It all started with a sketch. During First Storm Manga meetups, everyone doodles or writes in their sketchpads and laptops. Most of these random bits of creativity become nothing more than a passing fancy, but one particlar sketch ended up taking on a life of its own.

Eni drew a cutesy sketch of a piece of toast with a happy face out of boredom one fateful Saturday evening. We were looking for button artwork for San Japan, and a few weeks later, Toast made his debut on a First Storm Manga button.

San Japan came and went, and members soon began to thinking of new projects to work on. One member thought it would be a good idea to use Toast as a brainstorming exercise, with F.S.M. members contributing art, comics, and short stories featuring Toast!
